Fire in the Sky

Bikini Atoll, March 1, 1954. Never mind the apocalypse; saddle up! Sixty years later, the area remains uninhabitable.

Fortunately for the horse and rider (and the photographer), the nuclear fire in the sky shown here is our own Mr. Sun, and the area of this photograph remains unharmed. Mr. Sun certainly provides visual impact, though.
