Budville Trading Post

Howard Rice, aka Bud, opened the gas station and garage in 1928. The enterprise, in various iterations, remained open for sixty-six years. Bud, however, did not last so long. He was killed by a robber in 1967, who made off with the stately sum of $450. The widow, Flossie Rice, married Philip Atkinson. In 1979, Atkinson was shot and killed at the Budville store. No one was harmed or murdered making this photograph.
