Parked Cars at Blue Swallow

Opened in 1940, this motel is an icon of Route 66. The neon, motor court design, and garage units describe its period on The Mother Road. The motel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The caretakers graciously permitted making this photograph from the courtyard. Reflections from recent rain add extra 'pop' to the image.
