Connected

Wow. Her eyes and intensity stopped me solid. The light was perfect, and she really pops from the shadows, just as she did when I saw and heard her playing with several others. What good luck that I was able to capture the moment with a close shot and great light, and I believe it shows her strong connection with the music.

Musicians were everywhere I turned, but only a few situations offered the light and composition for a really successful image. Here we have no distractions, and the light perfectly complements and helps frame this beautiful woman doing what she loves. This is one of my favorite photographs of the day.
