150th Anniversary Event

Moorpark Civil War Reenactment ~ 2012

For two days each year, Moorpark becomes the scene of reenacted Civil War activities. People dress in period apparel: the soldiers in blue or gray and the ladies in fine or functional fashion. All look splendid. This was my fourth consecutive year of attendance and it was still refreshing and fun. There was, to me, a different "atmosphere" or "demeanor" to the event which I am unable to define or describe, but the day was well spent and I shall likely be there again.

Photography was enjoyable and challenging. Most of the better opportunities were during mid-morning and late afternoon. At all times, getting good compositions excluding 21st century materials and visitors (like myself) required patience and position. However, it can be done easily enough with a wary eye. Herewith are some results of the day.
