Poise

The guitar neck leads our eyes into the frame. The strong lines and angles of the barn and fences serve as counterpoint to her graceful, implied movement. You can almost see the skirt swing as she plays.

This photograph was made at the Topanga Folk Festival. Musicians in extemporaneous play are found throughout the day. This girl, and other young musicians, performed with the adults with poise and confidence.
